BSH is a globally leading manufacturer of home appliances and digital services for B2B and D2C, with multiple brands, dozens of factories, and millions of connected home appliances in over 50 countries around the globe. Together with Zühlke, the company wants to implement a data-driven organisation program that enables the whole organisation for data-empowered decision-making to increase revenue, reduce costs, raise effectiveness, and ensure responsibility. The challenge: align initiatives and global efforts around data topics and break down data silos to connect and enable people, processes & technology.

Agile roadmap with four complementary value streams

A collaborative approach with joint leads of BSH business, BSH IT, and Zühlke helps to design and set up a global five-year program in an agile working mode, focused on the continuous delivery of business value. The project partners establish and deliver a joint roadmap along four complementary value streams:

1. Value Stream "Reporting & Analytics"

The value stream aims to reduce redundancies and ensure consistency in reporting by promoting standards and transparency across cross-functional reports and KPIs. As a result, both more advanced and automated reporting, as well as collaborative organisational alignment between business and IT, were achieved.

2. Value Stream "Data Culture & Transformation"

The value stream develops and provides the necessary transformation support. To ensure a sustainable transformation, both individuals and business units require targeted support.

3. Value Stream "Data Science & AI"

The value stream establishes a foundation for people, processes, and technology, fostering synergies across departments. This foundation is essential for scaling AI solutions, achieving sufficient return on investment, and meeting the growing demand for AI in products and services.

4. Value Stream "Data Landscape"

The value stream establishes clear ownership of data products on the business side and reduces organizational and technical obstacles. This enables easy finding, access, and sharing of data across silos to generate value.
