The objective: an intuitive, web-based 3D configurator
The Hoffmann Group and Zühlke are working together to develop a 3D workstation configurator enabling end clients and facility equipment consultants from the Hoffmann Group to put together and design height-adjustable system workstations online themselves.
Objectives include making life easier for employees, reducing errors, increasing turnover, tapping into new market opportunities, saving time, and intuitive user guidance. The biggest challenge: mapping the extensive knowledge of the facility equipment consultants and all the dependencies and logics of the many hundreds of workstation configurations in the system.
An agile development process with customer feedback
The focus of the agile development process is on usability. An epic-level roadmap helps with prioritisation in the project. Involving end clients, going live earlier in selected markets and constant feedback-based optimisation enable the development of a 3D configurator adapted to user needs using microservices architecture.

Swift market launch and ease of use
The Hoffmann Group benefits from an iterative market launch in many countries. The configurator is connected to the enterprise applications (e.g. SAP, PIM) via the Hoffmann Group’s data hubs. It provides internal support for consulting and sales teams. Externally, end clients can use it to configure their workstations themselves. Preconfigured solutions also enable rapid introduction for specific purposes.
