Exploring low-code approaches with SGKB to replace an outdated CRM

We helped SGKB explore possible low-code approaches to replace a legacy CRM application.

The challenge

The St. Galler Kantonalbank (SGKB), a Swiss regional bank, was operating on a CRM solution which was no longer supported by the manufacturer, calling for an evaluation of a suitable new system. This evaluation would include exploring alternative options like the digitalisation of internal processes through the citizen development concept and the use of low-code platforms. Our team was chosen to support SGKB on this initiative, advising and evaluating potential new platforms.

The solution

Our evaluation process took technical, organisational, and regulatory factors into account. In joint workshops, we first assessed the existing CRM solutions on the market and their feasibility while considering the client’s requirements. Additionally, we held practical coding sessions with SGKB staff to familiarise them with low-code platforms and their capabilities. By the end of the collaboration, SGKB received comprehensive recommendations, including the estimated costs and timeframes for a migration.

The results

As a result of the collaboration, SGKB could make an informed decision on whether migrating to a modern platform made sense for the business at the time or if a short-term solution in the form of an upgrade to the existing CRM system would be more suitable.

Additionally, thanks to our close work with SGKB’s development team members, they were able to gain experience with a low-code platform and explore further potential use cases.
