AI and data science career path

Regardless of your seniority, if you’re working in an AI and data science role at Zühlke, you’ll be a go-to guide on all things AI and ML.

As a junior expert, you will be provided with a blend of in-project learning and coaching to sharpen your technical data and AI skills while developing your communication skills. We value all ideas at Zühlke and it’s not rare to see juniors with specialist knowledge leading sessions for seniors. You’ll also be working in partnership with our data consultants, data engineers, and wider technical teams to support them while they define methodological approaches and develop use cases with customers.

As a senior data scientist, you’ll be a trusted partner to our customers, providing them with strategic advice, as well as presenting and explaining results.

You’ll lead the development of Machine Learning solutions including data preparation, modelling, method selection, evaluation, and implementation. In this role you will also help develop junior data scientists’ knowledge of different application domains (e.g. Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision).

As a distinguished consultant, be captaining the ship. Working with the team leader to shape the future of the department (and Zühlke’s AI proposition), taking a leading advisory role for external stakeholders on end-to-end projects – getting your hands dirty with code while shaping the data and AI career pathways of those around you.

Data engineer career path

All data engineer career paths at Zühlke are about working closely with and learning from data scientists, architects, software engineers and wider teams. The goal? To develop the foundations, like a data platform, ensuring the successful and sustainable implementation of ML and data projects.

In a junior data engineer role, it is all about sharpening your technical skills and being open to learning new concepts and technologies – which you’ll encounter with each project. Much like our data scientists you’ll also develop the interpersonal skills needed to explain highly-technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

As a senior data engineer you’ll take a leading role in increasingly multifaceted projects. This will range from strategic advice to clients, consulting on data governance, design and architecture to implementation on common hyperscalers products, but also including special solutions. You’ll also be empowered to choose whether you want to develop your skills as a consultant or focus on implementation.

Data Consultant career path

As a data consultant at Zühlke you will need to have a backpack with diverse experience in strategic topics like data strategies, technical know-how in AI and ML, methodological know-how as well a very good communication skills. Your goal will be to develop and implement data-driven strategy that helps businesses innovate, make more informed decisions, and raise their competitive advantage on the whole.

As an expert data consultant you will work independently on client projects in your areas of expertise and focus industries. You will support the clients in developing sustainable data strategies. You will plan, organize and lead workshops using consulting methodologies to support our clients. You will apply and further develop our frameworks and best practices. You will act as ambassador for our discipline internally and externally. And you will position yourself as thought leader in AI.

As a lead data consultant you will guide our clients on a strategic level. You will develop the right strategies for AI + Data endeavors and you will support our clients with their data-driven company transformation in various dimensions. In addition you will actively develop new business for Zühlke in accordance with our business developers. You will as well develop new frameworks and standards based on your profound project experience. You will act as strong ambassador for data and AI internally and externally.
