    29th September 2022

In this session, Jan gave a short introduction to how Test-Driven Development (TDD) works and how we apply it at Zühlke and then see some live coding examples of how to use TDD on an often insufficiently tested part of applications: logging

This is to manage the complexity in software development projects and maintain our ability to react to changing requirements, it is important to be able to continuously verify that our code works as expected. TDD offers one way to define how our software is supposed to work and drive an iterative approach to extending and improving code.

    Speaker: Jan Schnegotzki

Jan joined Zühlke as a Software Engineer in August 2020. He is a Java Developer whose recent focus has been working on cloud-native applications in the financial domain. Since first incorporating TDD into his day-to-day work, he has become an advocate for test driven approaches and testing in general.

    7 July 2022

Whether a student or working adult, most of us have had the chance to take on a leadership position. However, how many of us have considered the science behind effective leadership? Or how these factors can hinder or improve productivity among ourselves and our peers?

As leaders are required to make important decisions, it is important to recognise the subconscious factors that affect our perceptions of people, causing unintentional biases during a decision-making process. What are these factors and how can we recognize them? What might cause the efficacy of leadership to be hindered? How can we increase productivity among ourselves and our peers?
